1. Editorial Independence & UK ASA / CAP Code Compliance
SmartPlug UK Lab is an independent British consumer technology publication. In strict accordance with the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) CAP Code and the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) transparency guidelines, we clearly disclose how this website is funded.
2. Amazon UK Associates & Retailer Affiliate Links
SmartPlug UK Lab participates in the Amazon EU Associates Programme and selected UK retail affiliate programmes. When you click on a product link marked with rel="sponsored nofollow" (such as links to Amazon.co.uk) and make a qualifying purchase, we may earn a small referral commission at zero extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, SmartPlug UK Lab earns from qualifying purchases.
3. Strict Separation Between Commercial Links & Verdict Scores
- Manufacturers, distributors, and PR agencies cannot pay to alter a comparison verdict, technical specification table, or buyer recommendation.
- Affiliate commissions never influence which smart plug wins a category: a £9 TP-Link Tapo P110 will always beat a £39 rival if it performs better for that specific UK use case.
- All retail prices quoted in Pounds Sterling (£ GBP) include VAT and reflect typical UK street pricing at the time of review, though live retailer prices fluctuate daily.
